"Oh I am so going to be in it now!" Clair mopes to herself walking back home with dread in her mind as she had just received her results in a geography test and it wasn't the best. Clair was terrific in her classes, English, Maths, History were her favourite and she was okay when it came to Art and Sports but Geography, she was terrible at it so bad that the first time she heard a plateau she thought it was some sort of special dish at a five star restaurant. None the less, Clair needed to get her grades up to party tonight and now she won't be able to. With a sigh she makes her way to her front door and "makes her way inside.
"Hi honey, how was school?" Clair's mother asks.
"Usual, nothing special to report!" Clair said making a straight line to her bed room to throw her beg inside.
'Maybe if I just don't mention it, she'll just let me go anyways!' Clair thought as she quickly makes her way out of her room and return to her mother.
"Anyways, I'm just more excited for tonight!" Clair explains.
"Oh yes that party at the O'Bryan's place!" the mother moans, "I hope you have your grades up!"
"Mum I'm doing well at school, don't worry okay!" Clair said putting on a fake smile.
"Okay, I trust you!" her mum said giving her smile.
'Great… one ticket for the guilt trip please!' Clair thought. Clair returned the smiles and leaves to get ready for the night ahead. The night came quick as Clair makes her way to the O'Bryan's house and already she could hear the music from it.
"Man, they are going to get complaints from their neighbours!" Clair smiles as she makes her way to the house. Seeing kids from her school already there with the O'Bryan twins George and Mike at the front greeting everyone that enters.
"Hey guys, I see you have got the party up and running!" Clair explains.
"Yeah, people are already enjoying it!" George said.
"Aren't you worried about the neighbours?" Clair asks.
"Nope, we've gave them a week notice, as well with the cops so it's all good!" Mike explains.
"Oh okay, I guess I'll see you guys inside then!" Clair said with a slight smile as she makes her way into the party. Seeing the nearly everyone from school was here enjoying themselves, Clair couldn't help to her mind slightly drift to her test results still in her bag.
'Relax Clair, just relax mum doesn't know about it so just enjoy yourself!' Clair thought trying to calm herself down as begins to dance to the music, attempting to have fun even that in the back of her mind she was still worried about her test. As the party went on and Clair to begin to get into the party, she soon found some of her friends from school and began to dance with them, eventually fatigue got the best of her and she had to rest, sitting down at a empty seat, Clair began to regain to regain her breath as her tongue flopped out of her mouth as she began too. Suddenly realizing what she was doing she quickly withdraw her tongue and sat there terrified if anyone saw her do that. Slowly scanning around to see no one saw her do it, Clair began to relax her tail wagging behind her. Clair froze, her heart skip a beat as she slowly turns behind her to see a two foot long tail appearing above her pants, jumping from her chair, Clair ran inside and straight into the bathroom, luckily for her it wasn't used so she had it completely to herself. Properly looking at her tail, she gave it a bit of a pull to see that it actually hurt her when she did.
"What… what happened to me, how did I grow a tail?" Clair asks as she could make it move like any other limb, to her it felt like an extra arm or leg. Seeing small tuffs of hair starting to sprout on it, Clair looks over her entire body to see what else has changed, finding only her nails were more pointed she couldn't find anything else.
"I… I got to get out of here, I… I got to find some help!" Clair explains to herself as she turns to her reflection catching that her nose was starting to turn black. Holding her tears back, Clair quickly made her way out of the bathroom and as quick and quite she could possibly be able to, makes her way through the maze of people.
"Hey, Clair!" a voice called out, Clair froze in horror as she slowly turns to see the O'Bryan twins making their way to her.
"Where are you off too?" George asks
"And what's with your nose?" Mike asks.
"I… I… I…" Clair began trying to think of something to say to the two but instead just ran off, not daring to look back as they two look at each other with an odd look at each other.
Running as fast as she could, Clair didn't know where she was running to or who could even help her but all she knew she had to do is run. Clair soon stop, looking back to see the part in the distance and the changes to her progressing, hair was now sprouting over her visible body area, her nose now fully black had became wet, her teeth had sharpened while her fingers looked to be more stubby.
"What's happening to me?" Clair whimpers, as tears begin to run down her face, beginning to run once again, her tongue now flopped out of her mouth, Clair just kept on running… running… running. Finding herself her street, Clair just ran to her house, up to the front door, reach up and… Clair froze her hands could not grabbed on to the door knob, as they were now paws.
"No… no…" Clair screamed "MUM… MUM!"
The door slowly opens as Clair mother looks at Clair.
"My…" Clair's mother said almost sounding kind of faking the surprise.
"Mum… please help me… something is ARGH!" Clair screams falling forward, holding tightly to her gut as her legs snap and cracked while back popped and cracked in several places causing her body to be adjusted to be bound in a quadruped stance.
"Oh sweetie, I am sorry that this hurts, truly, I am… but you must understand how I felt when I found your geography test result!" Clair mother said bending down.
"You… you… you're doing this to me?" Clair sobbed the pain of her body shrinking and adjusting to her new form was unbearable.
"Yes… I told you to keep your grades up and now not just did you not do that but you thought you could hide that from that from me… I hate to say it but… you are going to be sleeping the dog house tonight!" Clair's mother said, "Until will learn lesson you will stay there!"
"Mum… please… dooooooon'trooouf…" Clair cries out her face pushing out forming into a canine muzzle as her began to be lost in the series barks and howls as Clair the golden retriever lay in front of her mother, the very person who did this to her, just smiles at her daughter knowing full well that she would not make the same mistake twice, while Clair was praying that Rex, the dog next door won't get into their backyard like he has done in previous times…
